Hastings at War The book signing Hastings at War 1939-1945 was launched in May 2005 to coincide with the 60th anniversary of VE Day. A book signing took place in the Hastings branch of Ottakars on Saturday 7 May, which was well attended. The event was publicised in the local newspaper and the local radio station, Arrow FM. The book sold a vast number of copies during its first week of sale in bookshops in and around Hastings and on the Internet and continues to sell well.
